Dallas has the 3rd highest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the US including Exxon Mobile, AT&T, AMR Corporation, TXU and Texas Instruments.
Dallas has 2.9 million employees, employed in 117,566 firms.
Dallas’ main industries have been retailing, fashion, banking and insurance, but recently Dallas has become a leader in the high-tech industries.
DFW is the third busiest airport in the world, transporting 57,093,187 passengers in 2008. The airport is also larger than the island of Manhattan.

The DFW region experienced a 56% increase in international trade from 2003-2008.
Over the next 30 years there will be 1.6 million new houses and 560 new 100,000 sq ft office buildings.
